If you are looking for a place where tech fans, crafters, tinkerers and amateur scientist can meet and exchange ideas – Maker Faire is the right place for you. It is a mixture between a science fair, toy fair and an art festival. Last weekend, young and old makers gathered in the capital of Lower Saxony at the 2016 Maker Faire Hannover. The three-day event was a huge success, according to the organizers.
A novelty of the 2016 Maker Faire Hannover was the student day. Friday, from 9 to 13 o’clock, school classes and their teachers had free entry to the event. Thereby, organizers try to bring kids into the world of science and encourage them to build something on their own. Thanks to the many great projects that the Maker Faire Hannover had to offer, the potential of getting the maker fever was high. Some of the highlights were a life-sized, driving R2-D2 and some incredible steampunk models. Presentations, workshops and many exciting inventions made the fair an interesting event for young and old.
We would like to thank all the visitors who were interested in Tinkerbots and came to our stand at the Maker Faire in Hannover. Especially the young visitors seemed to have fun playing with our robot building kits. Their favorite set was the Advanced Builder Set which lets you build five different robot models. The kids really enjoyed that controlling Tinkerbots is so easy. One push on a button and it moves. Or use your smartphone and the Tinkerbots app as a remote control.
You don’t have to wait long for the next Maker Faire Hannover. The next one is scheduled for August 25th 2017. But before that, there is another German Maker Faire taking place between September 30th and October 2nd this year in Berlin. Of course, Tinkerbots will be on board!
